Alan McNish his horrific crash early on in the 24 hours of Le Mans 2011. Marshalls and Photographers having all the luck in the world. A few hours later Mike Rockenfeller would crash the second Audi in another huge accident. The last Audi is still leading the race but will have to stay in front of three Peugeot’s and out of problems to bring Audi their 10th Le Mans victory.
Audi will be taking this to Le Mans in 2011, aiming for its tenth victory at the legendary French circuit. The R18 (still a prototype) marks a return to a closed cockpit again for Audi, who have been driving open coupe’s at Le Mans since 1999.
